This website has been compiled by a bunch of ski and snowboard enthusiasts who have each invested many tens of thousands of dollars travelling to ski destinations throughout the world to find the perfect powder stash.

This website originated from our own frustrations in trying to research potential travel destinations. We just couldn't find what we were looking for, or resorts or tourism operators provided falsely glorified information. The aim of this website is to share our experiences with you in the hope that it will help your pursuit of the perfect powder stash. The content of this website is compiled by the Powderhounds, not by resort owners or tour operators who have a bias towards their own product. We tell it how we experienced it.

The website provides comprehensive information on a number of ski resorts in locations around the world including Japan, Canada, USA, Europe and New Zealand. You will find information on the location and how to get there, the type of terrain for various levels of skiers, facilities and services available at the resorts, accommodation options and other activities and sightseeing opportunities in the area.

When choosing the best resort for the next snow holiday, everyone has different factors that are important in the decision making process. For some, the most important factor is the cultural experience, or how family oriented the resort is. Cost may be a major determinant, or how the terrain is suited to beginners, intermediates or experts. For true Powderhounds, the biggest weighting is all about sniffing out the powder, and the likelihood of being able to find it. For most people, it’s a combination of factors that make a ski or snowboard holiday great. Just because one person raves about a resort doesn’t mean it’s ideal for you.

We have provided ratings on various international resorts and broken this down into many aspects including: the terrain for differing abilities, the powder, lift infrastructure, family-friendliness, cost, après, nightlife and the likelihood of finding “freshies”.
